This painting by F. Medard depicts a vibrant harbor scene, where boats, buildings and landscape come together in an expressive and colorful composition. The elevated viewpoint creates a dynamic, almost panoramic perspective.
The work is executed in oil on canvas, featuring visible and energetic brushwork. The paint is applied freely, with forms simplified in favor of color and rhythm.
The color palette is bold and striking, with contrasting tones such as purple, red, green and yellow creating a strong visual impact. The sky and landscape verge on abstraction, enhancing the overall sense of movement and vitality.
In terms of artistic movements, the painting aligns with expressionism, with clear influences from fauvism, where color is used independently from reality to create emotional and visual intensity.
A powerful and expressive artwork, ideal for modern interiors, hospitality settings or creative workspaces.
