Chair 68

The Chair 68 was designed as a simple and functional seating solution for everyday use. The design combines a round seat with a four-legged wooden base based on the bent L-leg construction that Alvar Aalto developed in the 1930s.
The seat and backrest form a compact structure that supports the body in a natural way. Thanks to the bent wooden legs, the design remains both lightweight and stable. The chair can also be stacked, making it suitable for spaces where flexibility is important.
Within Scandinavian Modern design, the chair reflects Aalto’s approach in which functionality, material and human scale play a central role. The use of bent wood gives the object a warm and organic appearance.
The chair is often used in dining areas, cafeterias, schools and residential interiors where a durable and timeless design is desired.
