The EA116 Lounge Chair is part of the iconic Aluminum Group, designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller in 1958. This collection marks an important moment within American modernism, where industrial innovation was combined with a clear and functional design language.

The design is based on a lightweight aluminium structure that acts as the supporting frame for a suspended seat and backrest. Instead of using voluminous upholstery, the Eames opted for a construction in which the material itself defines both form and comfort. This approach reflects their vision of honest material use and structural logic.

The EA116 stands out through its restrained elegance and technical precision. The open base and slender profiles create a sense of visual lightness, while the proportions provide a balanced seating experience. Within an architectural setting, the model functions both as a standalone lounge chair and as part of a broader interior composition.

As a representative of Mid-Century Modern design, the EA116 embodies the pursuit of timelessness, functionality and industrial refinement.
